It operates well over a thousand sites, many of them carrying BP, Esso, Shell or Texaco branding, and it sets the price at all of them.
MFG has been the most aggressive investor in forecourt electrification, converting sites to ultra-rapid EV hubs at a pace the oil majors have not matched. It also bought the Morrisons forecourt estate in 2023, which reshaped supermarket fuel coverage in parts of the country.
Because MFG prices sites it operates under other brands, comparing "MFG" against "BP" is not quite comparing two networks — a share of the BP forecourts a driver passes are MFG forecourts. The MFG-branded sites themselves tend to price competitively against local supermarkets.
